Through The Flower

Through the Flower's mission is to highlight women's achievements and create a cultural legacy built upon the vision embodies by the work of Judy Chicago through education, exhibition, and preservation.

In the fall of 2018, Through the Flower began working with the community in Belen, NM on a new proposal that would re-open the Through the Flower building, this time as the Through the Flower Art Space, and serve again as a creative hub for local residents and visitors. The Through the Flower Art Space is a center for educational resources and creative opportunities that connect visitors to cultural institutions across the US. Through the Flower Art Space features changing art exhibitions, a video and book library, and a permanent exhibition about Judy Chicago’s life and work.

Through the Flower is proud of its legacy in sponsoring and supporting projects and programs that illustrate the importance of art and its role in countering the erasure of women’s achievements in history. With the re-opening of a physical space dedicated to providing such programs to public audiences, Through the Flower is able to expand its reach and develop new and exciting ways to fulfill its mission.
